Hello dear reader! As you can see, we have another interesting team member that we would like to introduce to you today. Her name is Theresa and she is also part of our amazing content team.
Theresa is on board since the end of June. She already has lots of experience in the field of Human Resources Development and also got in touch with the creation of e-learning content - so she is a perfect fit for our team. When reading this interview, you will know which two big passions Theresa has. In addition, you will find out why the subject of learning means a lot to her and why we call her 'The Flash' 🙂 Enjoy reading!
Hello Theresa! 🙂 It's nice that you took the time today to tell us something about yourself and your work here at edyoucated. But first of all, who is 'Theresa'? Please, briefly introduce yourself to us! We are curious...
Hey guys I'm Theresa. I am happy to introduce myself today! I'm 25 years old and originally from Bonn, the Haribo city. After graduating from high school, I went to Paris for a year as an Aupair and then very enthusiastically started studying French in Mannheim 🇫🇷. But after two semesters I changed quite fast and finished my Bachelor in Business Education 👩🏻🎓. Looking back, it was a really good decision, because the subject of learning is very important to me. I'm currently studying business administration in my last master's semester and I will finish my studies this year with my master's thesis on digital soft skill trainings. After that, everything is still open... 😊
In my free time, I like to be on the road, especially here in Münsterland going on bike tours, hiking, going on city trips or pursuing my new passion: sailing. I am also a passionate cook and baker 👩🏻🍳You can see one of my latest results here:
Did you know that one of our marketing team members, Justus, is also passionate about sailing? ⛵ And damn, that cake looks really delicious! Oh, did I say that out loud? I think I'm hungry ... Anyway, how did you get here? What did your road to edyoucated look like?
Before I came to edyoucated, I had a lot of experience in the field of human resources development and was also able to gain some experience with the conception of e-learning content during one of my internships. Generally, I move a lot in the business education bubble and I'm glad that I meet like-minded people at edyoucated who think learning is as cool as I do.
Perfect, that's how it should be! We are so glad to have you on board 😊. I think it is time to tell our reader what your role here at edyoucated is, isn't it? And what interests me the most, how exactly do your workdays look like?
At edyoucated, I am - as well as Vivian - a digital content working student. I mainly create new learning paths for our platform which is called content curation. In the process, I define a structure, look for materials, create lessons, and define questions in order to check the learner's knowledge. I also take care that the learner keeps being engaged through our super nice guidance materials. If you don't know them, you should check it out!
Amazing! Sounds like you are taking on a lot of responsibility 🙂. In case someone thinks about applying for an open position as an intern, working student, or full-time employee, what would he or she have to know about us? Anything out of the ordinary that characterizes the whole team?
Applying as digital working students means learning a lot for yourself, too. By revising other peoples learning paths, you basically get paid for learning 😍. Weirdly, many many people at edyoucated are into making bread 😄 🍞. In general, people here have really cool hobbies! Also, everyone is just very interested and nice. We help each other, do socials on a regular basis, and have a very open-minded culture. Working here is just very enjoyable 🙌.
Yeah, I totally agree with you! If so many here enjoy baking, maybe we should open an edyoucated bakery with you as a pastry chef? You said you learn a lot of new things while working on your projects at work. Is there a new skill or topic you are learning in your spare time at the moment?
Still working on my sailing competencies... At the moment, I'm quite occupied with my thesis but I have lots of plans for afterwards 😉. For example, I want to join a conversation course in french in order to speak on a regular basis 🇫🇷. Also, I want to take piano lessons next year 🎹. I played as a kid and stopped playing 8 years ago. Since then, I didn't really practice a lot and I really want to change that 🙂
That would be great! I think we are then getting closer and closer to our edyoucated band 😄. Julian and Tim as guitarists, Fjedor playing the bass, Jannik on the saxophone, you sitting at the piano... I can already see it right in front of me. Sorry, I am getting off-topic again. According to the very good book of John Strelecky, what are your 'Big 5 for Life'?
Oh, that question is very tricky. My goals are not very concrete at the moment. I kind of still have the dreams I had when I was 12: A house, a dog, a small vegetable garden, two vacations a year, and a big family 😅 Last year, I had to postpone a long-planned trip to Vietnam which was very sad. So I guess, the next big vacation goes there... But I'm not sure if I would speak about my 'Big 5 for Life' in this case.
A beautiful dream. I really hope it becomes reality for you. Anything else we forgot, that you would like people to know?
Hmm ... Oh yeah, I really want to share a book recommendation: I have just read "Americanah" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie which is great 📖! I still think about it a lot because it's at the same time a great novel, but also socially critical and educational.
Oh, perhaps I should also reveal the secret of why I am called "The Flash" ⚡: I read extremely fast. The book I mentioned has about 440 pages and it took me only two days to finish it! 😁
Nice, I definitely put this book onto my reading list. Unfortunately, I think our time is up. I then say thank you so much for joining today, Theresa! It was a pleasure to meet you 🙂
Thanks for the invitation! The pleasure was mine.
If you would like to become part of our team or if you would be a good fit for our band, check out our open positions! 🚀
